Dr. Gwendolyn Wollney

Grew up with a variety of snakes, opossums and rabbits, as her older brother was a budding herpetologist and park ranger.

She received a bachelor’s in biology from Cornell University in 1985 and then entered the NYS College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell. After graduation she worked for a brief period in Connecticut where she met her first wildlife rehabilitator. She moved to the Rochester area in 1990 to work at Chili Animal Care for ten years, and now works at State Street Animal Hospital in Batavia, NY. Dr. Wollney works primarily with cats and dogs but maintains an active interest in exotic pets and wildlife.

Jennifer Marie Garafalo, DVM

A graduate from Long Island University/C.W. Post Campus with a B.S. in Biology in May of 1996. I then attended the New York State College of Veterinary Medicine and received my D.V.M. in May of 2000.
I have always had an interest in wildlife rehabilitation (especially with regards to raptors) but was not afforded the opportunity to work with said creatures until I met the Zimmermans in 2003. Through their patience and guidance I have gained considerable knowledge while offering my services in return. I am currently employed by the Abbott Road Animal Hospital in Orchard Park, New York.

"If you talk to the animals
They will talk to you
and you will know each other.
If you do not talk to them,
You will not know them,
And what you do not know
You will fear.
What one fears one destroys."
- Chief Dan George
